In addition to UISHR, Alek participates in the University Research Council, on the Deans Student Advisory Committee and leads community outreach in the local chapter of the American Chemical Society. Beyond his community involvement, Alek actively pursues research in theoretical physical chemistry. He hopes to one day pursue his work in an academic setting while teaching incoming students. In his spare time he enjoys running around and lifting heavy things and is usually found somewhere in the chemistry building avoiding work. Alek served as the Vice President of Finance in Fall 2012 - Spring 2013.
